Faith in Action

It's 7 a.m. Saturday, July 5th & the RLFC parking lot is buzzing with energy as we load up our 8 vehicles for our journey to Mexico. A team of 47 people is being sent & supported by the awesome family of RLFC to minister to several hundred kids in El Gulfo, Mexico as well as build a children's center that will not only be a blessing to them but their children. We have been doing this trip, in many different locations for 13 years now. I LOVE watching a church rally together to do works of significance. Whether its building a house locally for a needy family, helping New Orleans recover from Katrina, giving to our own 24:7 campaign or investing in kids a continent away I LOVE watching the church in action. Faith in action is what causes us to grow. There will be adults & youth alike on this trip who see, feel, hear (& smell:) things they never have before. We will get to watch their faith grow before our very eyes. Not only that but watching our church give generously, pray vigorously & support enthusiastically causes an entire church to grow as well.

Is your faith in action? Have you put feet to words? Let's all make sure we don't just give God our lip service....He deserves REAL service. So, RLFC....Here We Go!

Faith in action. A member of this church was helping a friend move. The friends couch was in extremely poor condition, but that was all he had to sit on. Our brother had him stop by his house on the way to the new place and on spot gave him the couch out of his own living room. What awesome generosity! This was a like new couch no questions asked.

I had just finished driving out of the RLFC parking lot after a Saturday evening sermon into

traffic that was pretty heavy at this time of day. I noticed out of the corner of my eye, a

young girl of about 15 or 16 years old standing on the side of the road with her head hung

low, barefoot, and disheveled in appearance.

As I drove by, I looked for a place to turn around to find out if this young lady needed

assistance. I drove into the next side street and yelled above the traffic noise to see if

she needed a ride. I was relieved when she said yes, as where she was standing in relation

to traffic was dangerous to say the least.

She was a fairly tall and well nourished despite her appearance and interesting odor that

from the puppy that we eventually picked up from her boyfriends house. After she placed her

seatbelt on, and we proceeded to drive off, I asked her if she was hurt or needed a doctor.

She said no, that her boyfriend left her there 3 hours before without her puppy, shoes,

purse, or transportation. It was a fairly hot and sunny day so I asked her if she wanted

something to eat or drink and for her destination.

After stopping for a cold soda we drove to her boyfriends house and picked up her things. On

the way to her own home I asked her if she ever went to church. She said that she had gone a

couple times with friends but not regularly. I offered to come and pick her up and take her

a couple of times if she wanted to go. I also gave her one of the "unGoogleable" cards with

my phone # on it if she wanted to attend. This all took place about a week ago and I am

still hopeful that she will show up one day at Sunday service.

Faith in Action. This past Sunday the SHARE IT challenge was to email our state representatives about the importance of marriage. I was nervous but I did and was encouraged to get a wonderful response from Representative Jim McCune. I thought it was encouraging and wanted to pass it along this is what he said, "Dear Vashti,
Thank you for validating my beliefs. We are responsible for standing up for marriage. The opposition is alive and well in this state (and country). Knowing I have your support to maintain Biblical
standards means more than you know. Your prayers are appreciated!"
It's all for Him!

Jim McCune

2nd District

Be encouraged and know that we have leaders who honor our King and are in need of our prayers. Thank you for the challenge.

Dear Pastor HR,

I have worked at Good Sam Hospital for the past two years, and I have had the immeasurable opportunity to see a great deal of people get well in mind, body and spirit.

Through the wonderful doctrine adopted in the MultiCare Difference, people have had kind and loving professional care provided for the duration of their healing stay.

I would like to tell you of the special message that you pastor, have had the opportunity (through me)to pass along to them.

By providing me with little tracts of Christian based material, Such as business cards, RLFC pens, and others like them, we have touched a great many lives and brought them the mustard seed of Jesus.

I just wanted to thank you for the ability to help you, in being the hands and feet of Jesus in their spiritual healing walk. My gratitude is immeasurable and you should feel secure in the knowledge that you have been a good shepherd to the lost, including myself.

I am ready to start on a new journey of faith at another company, as I think my contribution there is spent.

You have my deepest gratitude and reverence for the chance to glorify God and our Lord Jesus through RLFC.

My deepest thanks and fondest memories shall be evermore forwarded to you and the rest of the "crew" at our church.

Greatest Blessings,
Your Friend
